At The Detroit Pop Shop, we handcraft gourmet popsicles in delicious and unique flavors using the best ingredients. We focus on using fresh fruit, and utilizing other Michigan and Detroit companies as often as possible.
The Detroit Pop Shop is a social enterprise project of the Detroit Food Academy, a youth leadership non-profit that works with local educators, chefs, and business owners to inspire young Detroiters through entrepreneurial experiences rooted in food - experiences which open doors, create connections, and spark confidence. Our students come from high schools across the city of Detroit to use cooking and good food business to change the world.
The Detroit Pop Shop was founded by Hildie and Bryan Haviland, a husband and wife team. When relocating away from Detroit in 2015, Hildie and Bryan passed the pop to the young Detroiters of the Detroit Food Academy.
We love Michigan, and we love our great city of Detroit. We came up with the idea to create delicious popsicles because we believe summer is the best time to enjoy all that Detroit has to offer. And what better way to do that than with an ice cold popsicle in hand?
We are a 2014 Martha Stewart American Made Finalist, and we've been featured in Midwest Living Magazine, Eater Detroit, Edible Wow, and The Detroit Free Press.
